Prisca Faiba Msumba is the daughter of Samuel Obel, she is the only girl among the nine children, she comes from Bukoolo, Vihiga county in Western Kenya, i met Prisca near the railway line as i was going home, upon inquiry i was told that sometimes the Musumba's children stood near the railway line where they wait for those who are from Bukoolo shop to ask them for food, The first thing i noticed about Prisca was that she had not thrived at all, i was told she was 12yrs old but when i looked at her i felt that she was eight years old, her feet was covered with jiggers and when she talked it was as if she had not eaten for a while what made me adore this little girl was despite all that difficult life she managed to smiled and asked if i had any food, she told me that she goes to school once in a week because people laughed at her, she had no school uniform , no books and walked bare feet. when i asked about her mother, i was told that her mother had mental issues and lived in Nakuru on the street and that before Prisca was brought in the village by his father she used to beg for food on the street in Nakuru Town..

Paul Manase come from Bukoolo, in Vihiga county, western Kenya, I met Paul Manase while he was working in the neighboring village Lung'a, he had jiggers but not badly affected as his younger brothers and a sister, he was fetching water for those brewing alcohol in Lunga, a bucket of water that is 20litres they paid him five shilling, my problem was the distance where he fetched the water which was 2km, he also carried as much as water as an adult who were given 20shillings but was given almost nothing, i could also see he had difficulty in walking since his feet was swollen, his eyes red, tired and hungry, i sked him if he would take me to their home, he replied that their was had nothing to be seen in their home. His mother had mental issues and left with then to Nakuru where they lived on the street, the father brought them back to the village where they faced the same fate as those on the street. The villagers mocked them, his father is alcoholic, they do not have food, and worse was they worked for the villagers and they did not pay them sometimes, also jiggers infection made them have difficulty in walking. i could see he was not proud of himself, afraid of his future and his eyes was pleading for help. Thankfully Brighter Future Foundation was able to reach him on time

Kevin Aywa Ngota

When i met Kevin, he was in a bad shape, there was foul smell from his body, as i moved closer to talked to him the smell seemed to pushed me backward, one thing that caught my eyes was the numerous clothes he was wearing, how he was ashamed of himself and kept hiding his face in his hoodie, his hands never left his pocket for the one week i was trying to get closer to him, when i he finally trusted me, i wanted to know why he smell so bad, so i bought new clothes and convinced him that he would only wear new clothes and shoes after bathing, when he removed his cloths i finally understood why he had been hiding, Kevin had jiggers on his hands, feet, and elbow, he was literally a walking corpse, he also had evidence of beatings all over his body some new and some old, i have to testify that i had never seen anything like that, it took me five days to remove all the jiggers from his hands, feet, elbow and knees. When i asked about his parent i realized that his father was alcoholic and the mother left, he did not even know how the mother looked like because she left when he was a toddler. Kevin and his brother Oscar lives with their cousins in a small room because they do not have a house, he begs for food in the village where other people took advantage of him.
